I am really hopeless when it comes to cleaning my face before bedtime. I hardly wear make-up, at most mascara, so washing my face extra, except showering, of course, I never do. If I wear eyeshadow and/or blush I always force myself to clean it, but that often means that I already plop my pillow and then think: ‘Oh yes, I have make-up on’ and then backstroke to the bathroom. That’s why I wanted to test the Clinique Sonic cleansing brush, to see if cleaning my skin might be part of my routine. Taking good care of yourself from outside and inside is important.
I have no problem skin off myself. I occasionally suffer from impurities or a pimple, but I always attribute that to the time of the month. I care for my face with a day cream with SPF 15 and wear mascara almost every day. If I’m not too lazy to remove my makeup, I’ll do that with Clinique Clarifying Lotion 2. For Focus on Foodies, I tested the Clinique Sonic System Purifying cleansing brush for two weeks. This is an electric facial brush that cleans your face extra thoroughly. I took pictures of my skin in advance and afterward to see if there would be any different.
How do the Clinique facial brushwork?
The Clinique Sonic System Purifying cleansing brush delivers sonic vibrations and vibrates, as it were, the dirt of your skin. Normally you clean your face with your hands or a cotton ball and you do not get to deep into the pores. The device is small and fits well in the hand. With its green dots the brush also looks nice. You use the brush while cleaning your skin, in combination with water and a cleaning product. When testing the Sonic System I used Clinique foaming Sonic facial soap, a mild odorless soap.
It is better not to use the device on dry skin, this to avoid irritation. It is also recommended, if you use this brush for the first time, not to use it for more than 30 seconds, because it may be that your skin has to get used to the brush. The brush stops automatically after 30 seconds, but I found that a bit short, I was not finished with my whole face. Moreover, it felt very pleasant and I did not suffer from irritations. So for the first time I used the brush, I used it for 60 seconds. It is wise to first remove your makeup with a cleanser and then use the brush.
I found it very nice to use this device. And the mild brush in combination with the vibration felt very nice. I kept a clean feeling about it and my skin felt very soft after using it. I had the idea that the dirt came out of my skin well; the first two weeks I had more problems with unevenness before my skin really improved. I think Sonic System Purifying cleansing brush is well suited for sensitive skin, due to the gentle operation of the brush. The brush is not stiff and feels soft. Now that my “review time” is on, I will definitely use the device and I hope that I can make it a permanent ritual. That it will be just as normal as brushing your teeth. I am already almost 28, and I would like to have a nice and healthy skin for a long time, so I have to make some effort!
